How to get the Perfect Pet Portrait
Step 1:
Choose a Photo
This is the most important step of all, picking the purrfect picture. Because your submitted image will define how your final portrait looks, choosing an image you adore, and one of high quality (your pets face should be in focus), is crucial.
Check out our picture suggestions and guidelines here to double check your photo/s will work.
Remember, if in doubt, you’re always more than welcome to email us your picture before you purchase so we can let you know if it will work. We are here to make the experience painless and ensure you get the perfect portrait every time!
Step 2:
Purchase a Portrait
Yippee, you’ve selected your photo, so now what? You will need to purchase one of our portraits through our website to progress to the next step.
Once you add a portrait to your cart, a form will pop up for you to fill in. This allows you to add your chosen image/s and customise your portrait.
You have the option to ask us to remove items/things/distracting elements from the portrait for you (like a collar or harness). Please note, while we will do our best to remove anything, if the item takes up too much space in the photo we may not be able to remove it. We will work with you to make it perfect though, don’t you worry!
Step 3:
Draft & Review
Now that you’ve bought your portrait, it’s time to sit back and relax… but only for up to two working days! We will be busy bees perfecting your custom portrait.
Once we have a draft ready for you, we will email this through for you to check. Maybe it’s already perfect and you’re overwhelmed with your new gorgeous portrait, or, maybe it’s not quite as you pictured and you’d like a review. Never fear, either option is fine. You simply need to email us back to make revisions to your portrait and we will work with you until you are 110% happy with your pet portrait.
Please note, while we don’t shy away from reviews, we cannot start from scratch with a new photo you provide. If you need to use a new photo, we will have to ask you to purchase a new portrait, as each portrait is customised by the photo and takes a lot of time to perfect for you. However, we doubt this will be the case, as we can always help you choose the right picture from the start to set you up for the cutest portrait ever!
Step 4:
Final Portrait & Printing
OMG you’ve now confirmed your portrait and the high resolution printable file is on it’s way to you via email! Congratulations on your perfect pet portrait!
Digital Only Portraits
For those who purchased a Digital Only portrait, you can pop on down to your local print shop to get a copy (or three!) of your custom portrait.
After a fair bit of research, we have found the best (and most cost effective) way to print our portraits is on lustre photo paper. The Warehouse Stationery, Harvey Norman, online photo print suppliers and any self-service print shop offers this option and is therefore easily available throughout the country. Of course, if you have a specialised print shop in your area, it’s always worth going to chat to them and getting the highest quality print to accentuate your beautiful piece of custom art. This may mean having your pet portrait printed on archival paper or 250gsm card which can accentuate the watercolour canvas effect.
Framed and Printed Portraits
For those who ordered a framed portrait or print, we will be working hard to get your portrait in the mail to you. This should take us up to two working days from when you confirm your draft. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm a shipping timeframe as this will be dependent on where you live and if the courier company is facing any delays. Never fear though, we will send you through a copy of your tracking number so you can follow your package. You will also receive a lockscreen file of your portrait in the meantime. Once you receive your framed portrait, all that’s left is to find the perfect place on the wall to hang it for everyone to see!
Lastly, we would always love for you to leave us a review as we adore seeing our happy customers (especially pictures of your portrait next to your pet!).
